Blood clots and pulmonary embolism cause more deaths annually than breast cancer, car accidents, and AIDS combined, yet public awareness remains low. Emily’s Promise partnered with Sachs Media to launch a statewide campaign focused on awareness, advocacy, and early detection.
The campaign combined paid social media, 15 op-eds in major Florida newspapers, and fundraising support to sustain the nonprofit’s mission. Targeted outreach helped secure passage of the Emily Adkins Prevention Act in 2023, creating a workgroup to establish standardized care and monitoring for blood clots.
In one year, the campaign generated over 820,000 social impressions and 370,000 page engagements, while surveys showed increases in public confidence identifying blood clots and recognizing symptoms. Sachs Media’s efforts positioned Emily’s Promise as a leading voice in blood clot awareness, demonstrating the power of strategic communication in public health.
