Transforming addiction recovery through storytelling and strategic timing

Sachs Media partnered with Stable Recovery, a residential recovery program for men overcoming addiction, to elevate awareness of its innovative model that pairs substance-use recovery with equine-assisted workforce development. Despite strong outcomes and a compelling mission, the organization lacked visibility beyond its local footprint and sought to position itself as a national example of effective recovery programming.

Our team developed a strategic media relations campaign rooted in human-centered storytelling and cultural relevance. To maximize interest and earned media momentum, Sachs Media timed national outreach around the Kentucky Derby and Oaks, leveraging the spotlight on Kentucky’s equine heritage to underscore Stable Recovery’s unique approach. We secured a marquee feature with the Associated Press, syndicated across 136 outlets nationwide, along with in-depth coverage in the Washington Post, CBS News, and NPR. Additional placements included statewide broadcast saturation on Spectrum News, regional television and radio coverage, an op-ed in the Louisville Courier Journal, and a podcast feature highlighting the program’s impact.

The campaign generated overwhelming public response — driving a surge of inquiries that temporarily filled all available beds and a $100,000 grant — and transformed Stable Recovery from a little-known local program into a nationally recognized model for addiction recovery, workforce development, and second chances.

We turn high-stakes challenges into results.
