Newborn Developmental Screening Campaign

Promoting Early Detection in Newborns

The Florida Department of Health engaged Sachs Media for multiple years to help promote the Florida Newborn Screening Program. The state public health initiative is part of a national program that reaches nearly 4 million babies born in the United States each year – approximately 220,000 of them in Florida. These screenings identify potentially debilitating and life-threatening conditions within the first weeks of an infant’s life, giving Florida children the best possibility for early intervention and care. Our multi-year, bi-lingual (English and Spanish) PSA campaign exceeded all goals.

Generated more than 23.8 million total impressions – exceeding the contracted impressions by 970%.

Provided a return on investment 14 times greater than what the budget would otherwise have
generated for the taxpayer-funded agency.

Increased the number of completed newborn screenings increased by 26.8% following the completion of
the campaign
