Promoting Childhood Learning

Faced with a severe shortage of childcare teachers, the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida engaged Sachs Media to launch a campaign to address the growing shortage of childcare teachers in its seven-county region. The goal was to highlight the need for childcare teachers while simultaneously promoting the role as a rewarding, attainable career path. Sachs Media research found that almost 9 in 10 parents with young children in the area agreed that early childhood educators are integral to a child’s early development, but almost three-quarters had difficulties arranging adequate early learning opportunities due to a lack of available educators. After developing a logo and branding under the name Kickstart Success, Sachs Media launched a campaign that included surveys, video shoots, targeted print, radio, and social media ads, and earned media – all strategically crafted to reach a largely rural audience. All communications activities linked to a Kickstart Success landing page that featured clear information about how interested residents could connect with local providers looking for childcare teachers.
