Sachs Rebrands Volunteer Florida

To inspire more Floridians to serve their communities and better capture the energy and excitement of Volunteer Florida’s programs, Volunteer Florida today launched a new logo and website and renewed its commitment to strengthen Florida’s communities through volunteerism and national service.

“Florida’s volunteers and AmeriCorps members do incredible work in Florida, and we are thrilled to better showcase their work on this updated, modernized web platform,” said CEO Chester Spellman. “Our new website also features interactive ways for potential volunteers to find volunteer opportunities in their area, and offers new resources for our partners and volunteer managers across the state.”

Features of Volunteer Florida’s new website include:

  • An interactive map of Florida’s volunteer centers and AmeriCorps programs
  • A searchable database powered by All for Good, a Points of Light service, so potential volunteers can search for opportunities based on their interest and location and organizations seeking volunteers can post opportunities online
  • A blog featuring posts from Volunteer Florida staff, Commissioners and partners
  • AmeriCorps program spotlights and impacts
  • Downloadable resources including Volunteer Florida, AmeriCorps and Emergency Management fact sheets
  • Resources for potential volunteers or AmeriCorps members
  • Resources for volunteer managers and AmeriCorps program directors

Volunteer Florida, the Governor’s Commission on Community Service, administers AmeriCorps State programs in Florida; coordinates volunteers and donations in a disaster; and increases volunteerism through grants, trainings and recognitions. Current grantees include Teach for America, the American Red Cross, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Florida Parks Service.

Volunteer Florida selected Sachs Media Group to develop its new branding and website in a competitive Invitation to Negotiate process.

“Effective branding can help organizations position themselves to better achieve their missions,” said Michelle Ubben, Partner and COO of Sachs Media Group. “We were proud to have the opportunity to rebrand Volunteer Florida and hope it will help the organization inspire a stronger spirit of volunteerism in our state.”

The new website is now live at www.volunteerflorida.org. For questions or comments about the new website, visitors are encouraged to email: webmaster@volunteerflorida.org.

Volunteer Florida (the Governor’s Commission on Community Service) was established by the Governor’s Executive Order in 1993 and the Florida Legislature in 1994 (F.S. 14.29). Volunteer Florida is administratively housed in the Executive Office of the Governor and guided by a bipartisan board of Commissioners who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
