Every 20 years, Florida convenes a constitutionally mandated Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) to review and revise the state’s charter document. The Florida Bar engaged Sachs Media to develop a statewide public and Bar-member education campaign to prepare voters to engage with and weigh any proposals that diminished the judiciary and to enlist Florida Bar members as messengers.

Our research led us to create Protect Florida Democracy: Our Constitution. Our Rights. Our Courts. The campaign incorporated a clear call to action, and inspired a sense of urgency and necessity among voters as the program encouraged them to get informed of and involved in the CRC process.

This highly successful public education program delivered more than 68 million advertising impressions, garnered thousands of social followers, and contributed to doubling awareness among voters of the role of the CRC. Perhaps the most gratifying and valuable result: None of the eight amendments ultimately proposed by the CRC posed a threat to the judicial branch.
