The Foundation for Florida Virtual School Announces Momentum: FLVS World Symposium

ORLANDO, Fla.  – Online education professionals from around the country are invited to pack their laptops and make plans to attend Momentum: FLVS World Symposium, presented by The Foundation for Florida Virtual School.  Formerly held as a professional learning conference for Florida Virtual School® (FLVS®) teachers and support staff, for the first time, FLVS is expanding the reach by inviting a national audience of professionals in the field of virtual education.  The three-day event delivers a dynamic program that includes expert speakers and innovative breakout sessions covering the latest trends and best practices in virtual education.  More than 2,000 are expected to attend.

“The world of online education has grown exponentially through the years, and FLVS is a recognized thought leader,” said Star Kraschinsky, president of The Foundation for FLVS.  “We are excited and proud to host this premier event that brings together the best and the brightest in the business for this high-value, three-day learning experience.  The Foundation for FLVS is committed to providing professional development and learning opportunities to teachers and education administrators. Momentum will focus on innovative education with the ultimate goal of improving educational outcomes for students around the world.”

With the primary objective of sharing best practices, Momentum will feature educators and content experts for breakout sessions focused on issues and topics related to technology, leadership, quality, novice and advanced innovative best practices, or other virtual education topics.

Added Kraschinsky, “We’re committed to presenting a conference that will more than deliver on the time and resources invested by those who attend.  We look forward to hosting online educators and industry experts for a meaningful and educational event.”

Momentum: FLVS World Symposium will take place at The Hilton Orlando from Wednesday, October 1, through Friday, October 3, with a pre-conference workshop on Virtual School Leadership held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.  There will be a fully produced exhibit hall for vendors of education and technology items on Wednesday and Thursday.  Featured in the packed agenda for the conference are more than 40 breakout sessions, keynote speakers, and the annual Opening Doors to the World Awards Celebration dinner honoring leaders in virtual education.*

Keynote speakers are Ian Jukes and Dan Heath.  Jukes is the founder and executive director of the InfoSavvy Group, an international educational leadership consulting firm.  He has worked with clients in more than 75 countries and has given more than 10,000 presentations.
