The Council of Public Relations Firms (Council), the industry’s national trade association, recently announced the election of its new officers and directors. Ron Sachs, president and CEO of Sachs Media Group, will serve as a new board member, effective immediately.
Sachs, a Tallahassee-based media veteran, is one of Florida’s most accomplished communications professionals, with deep leadership experience in news media, government, corporate and nonprofit work. His career includes creation and execution of broad-based public education campaigns and skilled, high-wire crisis management. An Emmy® Award-winning former newspaper, magazine and television journalist, his thought leadership and ideas have created projects that generate local, statewide, national and worldwide attention on issues as diverse as financial literacy, hurricane safety, safe driving, non-partisan political dialogue—and even rock ‘n roll. Sachs has served two Florida governors as senior communications counsel and is the former chairman of the highly regarded Leadership Florida.

The new Chair of the Council is Christopher Graves, Global Chairman of Ogilvy Public Relations. Joining Graves as executive officers are Aaron Schoenherr (Greentarget) as secretary and Bryan Harris (Taylor) as treasurer.
Ron Sachs will serve with the other 2015 board members, all CEOs/Principals of their firms: Virginia Devlin (Current), Carrie Jones (JPA Health Communications), Daryl McCullough (Citizen Paine), Todd Hansen (O’Malley Hansen) and Karen van Bergen (Porter Novelli).
