Sachs Media is more than just a leading communications firm — we’re a family dedicated to helping shape a sustainable future. Many of our team members are parents with children, and even grandchildren, so we’re deeply committed to supporting a healthier environment for generations to come. We are especially proud that this dedication is reflected in our recent ranking by O’Dwyer’s PR as the #1 firm for Environmental Public Relations in Florida and the Southeastern U.S., and a top 10 firm nationally.
Our extensive public relations work on behalf of environmental and clean energy policy in multiple states and even internationally showcases how we drive significant, positive change. As one example, we’ve been at the forefront of campaigns to stop punitive taxes on electric vehicle owners in Florida. Leveraging strategic coalition building and an economic impact study, we helped persuade conservative legislators to defeat the proposed tax four years straight. Additionally, we produced videos highlighting the value of EVs, the improved EV infrastructure at Cape Canaveral, and EV Day at the Capitol.
In Atlanta, we partnered with WeatheRISE ATL to address high energy burdens by facilitating energy-efficient home upgrades. In Virginia, we collaborated with the Energy Foundation to highlight federal clean energy funding benefits. We worked with PowerSecure in the Bahamas to improve utility systems in the island nation. In Florida, our efforts with the Consumer Energy Alliance promoted inclusive energy policy through comprehensive communications, and we supported U.S. EcoGen’s biomass renewable energy project in Central Florida. Notably, we activated a coalition of pro-solar groups to protect rooftop solar policies in Florida, resulting in over 16,000 supportive comments to the Florida Public Service Commission.
The list goes on and on. We also collaborated with the Nature Conservancy to support climate change solutions, organized boat trips to show legislators the real-time effects of climate change, and developed campaigns to support federal cap-and-trade legislation. We worked on efforts to protect Florida’s water resources from federal overreach, and conducted the “Rethink. Reset. Recycle.” initiative to combat recycling contamination. These campaigns underscore the breadth of our work and the diverse strategies we employ to advance environmental and clean energy goals.
Throughout our journey, we’ve learned some keys for successful environmental PR:
- Leverage Data and Research: Utilize economic impact studies and surveys to back your campaigns with solid data, making your message more credible and persuasive.
- Engage Stakeholders: Build coalitions and partnerships with relevant local and state environmental organizations, advocates, and community members to amplify your message and increase its impact.
- Utilize Multi-Channel Strategies: Combine traditional media, social media, targeted advertising, and grassroots efforts to create a comprehensive green campaign that reaches a wide audience.
- Craft Compelling Narratives: Develop authentic and relatable stories that resonate with your target audience and highlight the real-world impact of your cause, detailing the work of dedicated local advocates who can share how environmental initiatives saved money and helped protect natural resources.
- Monitor and Adapt: Continuously monitor the effectiveness of your campaigns and be ready to adapt your strategies to respond to new challenges and opportunities.
We remain committed to continuing our vital work in environmental and clean energy PR, driving positive change, and fostering a sustainable future. We don’t do it for the awards and recognitions, but they’re a nice reminder that we’re on the right path.
